Default Noob Here, Need a Little Help

Hi, i just got guild wars platinum edition today and im very excited. But because i am a noob, i have some questions about the second proffesion. I am a warrior and am really confused. First of all, which secondary profession is best for warrior? I was thinking monk but wasnt sure. Also, if i pick monk, does that mean i will be able to heal my self my earning monk healing skills even though im a warrior? Or is better to pick a whole different second proffesion such as elementalist?

For a warrior, and since you are a noob, I would say

Monk.

Later on, you can alternate with Elementalist

(noob in a good sense )

http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Profession
this can help you a bit for now
and for changing your second proff http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Prof...nger_%28NPC%29
also see for more details http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ascension

so in other words
to change your second proff you will need to do a quest later on in the game and then you will be able to change it

and since you're new a good tip is this http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Attribute_quest
those are for later when you get out of the Crystal Desert
it's for more attribute points to achieve your maximum of available points

and for help on any quests/missions/skills anything! there is always the GW bible wich we call: http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

Yes, you can change your secondary. Not that it matters much, though - if you're like most, you'll probably find that you're not using your secondary profession's skills all that much later on in the game unless you're using a build meant for a specific mission, quest or area.

As for self-healing as a Warrior/Monk, it can be useful at times to take a bit of pressure off the Monks in your party (once you get that far), but it's not considered ideal and definitely won't make you immortal. :P Personally, I find that using it for Purge Condition (to get rid of bleeding, blindness, etc. on myself only - never try and act like a real Monk and attempt to protect/heal your party since Warriors do not have the Energy for it) and for Judge's Insight to allow me to do holy damage in battles against undead (at least at the beginning of the battle; not usually enough energy to cast it during the battle itself ) has been best for me so far.

You really should try all the proffesions, they really are very unique and play much differently as a primary then as a secondary to another class.

Your play style, based on the world of GW, may not be what you think in the begining so test out all classes before you commit to one.

Once you do find the one you love most, stick with it! It is far easier to outfit and earn titles/ect for just one char then to attempt to equip multiple chars especially if your just starting out.

Warriors don't have the energy to use ele skills to their full potential. Warriors use adrenaline for most of their skills.

Actually, you'll be able to learn all of the Warrior skills *and* all of the Monk skills - though some skills, those in the Divine Favor attribute, won't be all that good since you won't be able to raise the attribute.
